In the spring, be sure to check out the Tulip Extravaganza at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs or simply drive around the Heights neighborhood in Little Rock to see the dogwoods and azaleas in bloom.

Our extensive network of parks in The Natural State includes 52 state and seven national parks. From hiking and boating to watching wildlife, you’ll find unique activities from digging for diamonds to listening to live music at a folk center. Mountains and Lakes, Rivers and Streams
Three mountain ranges ensure spectacular views -- the highest peak is 2,753 at the height of Mount Magazine, and don’t miss the sunset at Mount Nebo. 17.2 million acres of forests gives Arkansans an abundance of opportunities to go get lost in the woods.
With 600,000 acres of lakes and 9,700 miles of streams and rivers, you’re never far from the water and water sports. Downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock were developed on the banks of the Arkansas River, so visits to the River Market and surrounding area can be a regular treat. Be sure to cross the Big Dam Bridge, the longest pedestrian and bicycle bridge in North America, for some more of those spectacular views. And, floating the Buffalo National River is a rite of passage for any Arkansan.

With several long-distance trails and dozens of shorter hikes that are enjoyable in any season, Arkansas is easily one of the best states for hiking in America.
The scenic beauty of Arkansas is a natural complement to the game of golf. And Arkansas makes for great fishing all year long, even during the winter months.
